Last week, I met up with Chris and Andy from Visit West Hollywood for a tour of Schindler House, the first piece of modern architecture in the US.

I had no idea what to expect.

I’ve had guided tours in the past that felt like well-rehearsed skits, and I wondered how this group would make early-20th century architecture interesting for someone who wasn’t very knowledgeable on the topic.

Then we met Anthony Carfello, the Deputy Director of Schindler House, and immediately my fears dissipated. Anthony’s passion for the design and history of the house shone through in his wildly engaging presentation. He had our undivided attention for the entirety of the tour.
