Size:

The room was small but perfectly reasonable size for Thailand. We were on the second floor overlooking the pool. We had a double size bed and enough room to walk around comfortably.

Price:

We paid $40 a night for our room, but it was absolutely worth it to be able to use the pool during the hot sticky afternoons between excursions. You can definitely find cheaper hotels in the area, but this place was perfect for us.

Hotel Review: 99 Gallery Hotel in Chiang Mai, Thailand LGBT Travel Location:

99 Gallery is located at the edge of the old city inside the squared off area. It’s far enough away for it to be quiet and away from the loud party scene but close enough to where it’s a short tuk tuk ride to the night market. There are plenty of restaurants in the area and lots of little shops and things to see when you’re walking around at night. We had to pay a little extra for the tuk tuk’s each night to get to the night bazaar but it’s worth it if you’re looking for peace and quiet.

Customer Service:

The on site tour company to help with booking an excursion was incredible. It was super nice to be able to plan day by day rather than having to plan everything in advance.

Breakfast:

The breakfast spread was really good. They had a wide selection of pan-Asian and western foods. They had noodles, rice, soup, croissants, fruit, yogurt, and cereal with coffee, tea and juices. It’s a good value if you are on a tight schedule or if you are booking lots of early morning tours. It was great to have breakfast ready at the hotel before going out for the day. If you have more time in the morning, you could venture out and find breakfast cheaper at other restaurants.

LGBT Friendly:

I wouldn’t call them obviously anti-LGBT but I wouldn’t say they are overtly friendly either. We had several awkward stares from hotel staff while using the pool but no one said anything to us. They had no problem giving us one bed and they were very hospitable but we got the vibe that we were being watched more closely than other guests.
